Here is the ray tracing demo I used in class, and here are some practice worksheets and solutions. These also double as practice with the lens equation.
I've updated the sample exam 3 to include an RLC problem, for practice. The exam is labelled "version 2".
If you'd like to explore the Earth's magnetic field you can check out this simulation: https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/maps/historical-declination/
I finally got Homework 5 deployed and it is showing up in Blackboard. I've changed the due date to Sunday evening, and no there won't be a second assignment due this week.
Here is a review outline for the first exam, which is on Wednesday September 24th. Here is also a sample exam with solutions.
Here is a brief video of a three-dimensional dipole field.
We will have a "test-run" quiz on Tuesday so you can see what it looks like, but which will not be for a grade.
For future reference, make sure you include your first and last names on all assignments. There are so many duplicate first names!
Homework will be posted on the class Blackboard site; you should visit the McGraw-Hill Connect server via Blackboard instead of directly. Also, alas, they won't let me grade via completion. :(
Please take this poll in class: https://forms.gle/TmHhXxd7SEQrcRgu7
Welcome to Physics 2140! This website will include the notes and problem sets from class. Homework and reading assignments can be found on McGraw-Hill Connect.
